Deep Countree believes that every hunter has a story to tell. We encourage you to submit your adventures. Whether you are hunting pheasants in the field next to your house, pursuing Whitetails, hunting for elk, antelope and/or mule deer, chasing caribou, harvesting wild hogs or alligators, or bringing home the turkey; we would like to hear about it. I have some sad news for our readers Lane Van Orman the Senior Field Advisor for Deep Countree passed away just before Christmas. He was a WWII Veteran, avid outdoorsman and consevationist. Lane hunted for over 70 years. He hunted game animals for food during the great depression to support his family, as well as every game animal on the North American continent, from Alaska to the Deep South. Where did the name Deep Countree come from? We were traveling in southern Oregon with my four year old daughter (she is Twelve now) when she started kicking her legs against the front seat of my pickup. Excited, she shouted "we are in the Deep Countree, Dada". Thus, the name Deep Countree came about.

We are a new concept in online reading enjoyment so please be patient with us as we evolve.
